I knew I wanted a career in security, but I had not thought about getting to the executive level and the breadth of experience it would require. I started looking at degrees that provided a larger scope of the defense industry, and OU was always one of the top suggestions. The program was exactly what I was looking for: it covered a broad spectrum of information, was designed for mid-career professionals and equipped its graduates for the executive level. It was the perfect fit.

The Management PhD program at Price College is transformational. The program is of course challenging, but combined with the collegiality and engagement of the faculty, it creates the perfect environment for learning how to conduct top-tier research and how to teach at the highest levels. When I graduated, I felt fully capable of succeeding as an Assistant Professor and beyond. To this day, I attribute much of any achievement I have in this field to the training and support I received at OU.

My key focus was to find a program that fit into my schedule. When I saw the yearlong program, what it had to offer, and learned about the different individuals who would be in my cohort — I think that was one of the biggest draws of the program.

With the benefit of the degrees from two of Oklahoma's top programs, JD/MBA graduates go on to be corporate lawyers and run their own law firms and businesses. Students typically complete two full years of law coursework, then schedule their MBA and remaining law courses into years three and four. It is best to apply for the dual JD/MBA program during the second year of law coursework.
  • PharmDOU College of Pharmacy students are eligible to apply for the PharmD/MBA dual-degree option, adding just one year of additional study to the four-year pharmacy degree.
